Matt grew up in Belton, Texas.  

He has worked as a lifeguard, knife salesman, resident advisor, handy man, private lesson teacher, substitute teacher, travel sales consultant, barista, freelance singer/instrumentalist, and choir director.  

Matt lives in Knoxville, Tennessee, with his wife Hailey, baby June, and their two dogs, Walker Texas Ranger and Ruby Grace.

Matt went to Harding University for his undergraduate degree in Vocal Music Education and the University of Tennessee for his master's degree in Choral Conducting.

Currently, he teaches choir at Central High School.

In his free time, Matt likes to arrange music and sing with his quartet, Secret Best Friends.
